[From Discord] Is there a step by step install guide for windows 11?

I’m having problems getting the CH341ser driver installed on my Windows 11 laptop, and therefore I can’t connect to the Mini device that I just received. I bought the kit, and also bought the VGA cable because I will have a lot of server use and they have VGA.

I downloaded the driver following the directions, but there is no “device found” sound when I plug in the Mini. I’ve rebooted several times, tried the installer in the exe and the zip versions. I tried to uninstall the driver but it says it is not found. Not even sure the device is getting power from either the target or the host, I didn’t find any LED that might indicate power. I’ve tried both the USB 3 A port and the USB 3.x C port on my laptop (host).

Target is an HP T740 but that shouldn’t really matter between host and device.

I haven’t tried to get this working with Linux yet, I’ll look into this when I have more time, my Windows laptop was the more important device to get going.

Thx for the details, and sorry for the trouble on Win. We definitely need to improve our quick-start docs. Our dev team is already looking into the CH341 driver issue and the missing device detection. We’ll update the guide soon. Appreciate your patience. :folded_hands:

Does this also apply to the CH340?

The driver provided in the installer no longer installs on Windows because it is unsigned, which results in the inability to use the keyboard and mouse.

I’ve worked around this issue by first installing a much older version of the application, which installed an older signed version of the driver. From there, I installed the latest version of the application, and everything worked as expected. I installed version 0.1.0.41, then installed the “latest” version 0.5.7.353.

Perhaps rolling back the provided driver version would be useful, or is it that certain chipsets aren’t supported by older versions?
