[From Discord] Looking for a way to disable 4K video input

I’m looking for a way to disable 4K resolution input or limit it to 1920x1080 as the maximum allowed.
Before I updated the firmware, when I was installing Alma Linux, the installer screen would render with a resolution of 1920x1080.
After the firmware update, the installer renders with a resolution of 3840x2160, making the interface very small and hard to navigate.
Is there a way for the Openterface KVM to be presented as a 1920x1080 monitor to the target device??

hi,you may need to downgrade the firmware if you cannot change the resolution on the target device

But so far the software doesn’t support downgrading

You are using Windows, right? I can build such functions to downgrade

Thanks for looking into this @Kevin Peng, I can switch to windows to downgrade the firmware, would it make sense to have feature to set the accepted resolution for the KVM? So that is selectable by the user like HD (1280x720), FHD (1080p), etc..

With the downgrade of the firmware, are the other features/stability that would be lost or is it just the max allowed resolution?

The only difference between latest and the out of factory firmware is the maximum input resolution. We will build a backup and restore firmware function to the windows app, then you can restore to the 1080p firmware

This release can restore and backup firmware, and you can get the 1080p firmware from the link, https://assets.openterface.com/openterface/firmware/Openterface_HID_Firmware_240815.bin
